| Stand Up! Help Out! is an after-school camp for high school students in the Bronzeville area of Chicago which started in 2006. |
Bronzeville is an historic African-American community on the South side of Chicago that is in the midst of massive redevelopment. The Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) has demolished 40-year-old public housing in order to make way for new mixed-income housing. The Bronzeville community is under stress and in a critical transition.

| The youth of Stand Up! Help Out! have provided social services to their community-- tutoring younger students, setting up health fairs, organizing marches against violence, and documenting their own stories. See what they’ve done so far! |
| Stand Up! Help Out! is funded and operated by After-School Matters in Chicago, IL and Loyola University Chicago. |
